Earlier this month, I was invited by Nike to attend a Nike Running Brunch where I had the opportunity to meet and bond with some of the most influential individuals in the LA running community, whom most (if not all), have started their own run groups. We all shared our stories, visions, and aspirations for the future of running in LA and personal goals we want to reach. As a thank you, we all received a bag that included so much awesome Nike swag including the unreleased LunarEpic Low Flyknit 2. Being the obsessed Flyknit lover that I am, I was so stoked to be one of the first to own them!
Fast forward a couple weeks later, I received yet another amazing opportunity from the Nike Running team, inviting me to host an unforgettable Nike Running experience for myself and 3 of my girl friends, at the newly remodeled Nike West Headquarters in Culver City. I obviously couldn't pass up on this! So what do I do? I instantly hit up the first 3 girls that came to mind who have inspired me one way or another in my running journey: my sister Lindsay, cousin Ariana and my friend Natalie.
As soon as we stepped into Nike West, the pampering began. We were all gifted bags that included a full running outfit and a pair of the new LunarEpic Low 2s. Once we changed, we head out for a short and easy 2 mile run around the neighborhood led by Nike Running Head Coach Blue Benadum. After our run, we had a mini photoshoot with Ashley Barker, followed by some recovery stretching with Coach Blue. Once we were all stretched out and fully recovered, we were then walked into a beautifully decorated room where we would continue to get pampered. I'm talking about nails done, massages and testing out juice samples from Moon Juice.
As we were all in the room bonding and sharing our personal stories, I noticed that after the short 2 mile run we had just done, I was about half a mile short from reaching 100 miles for the month of January. So what do the girls suggest?! That I go out and EARN those triple digits! I seriously couldn't have asked for a better setting for my first triple digit mile month! Coach Blue went out and helped me reach my 100 miles while everyone cheered me on! Truly made ya girl feel super special! haha
I know I always say this, but I seriously can't EVER thank my Nike family enough for all the support and opportunities they have always blessed me with. It truly makes me so happy knowing I have their support because if it wasn't for them, I would have never found my love for running. My running journey is all thanks to Nike Run Club.
Now to the LunarEpic Low Flyknits 2s. Since I've had them for a couple weeks now, I've had the opportunity to take them out and log some miles in them and let me just say, I LOVE THEM! They are beyond comfortable and super lightweight.
What I like most about this updated version is that the tongue is now integrated with the entire upper, so it doesn't slide around while running. It's so easy to just slip on and feels like a sock. Let's also be real here, they ARE Flyknit, so it's a no brainer that they're comfortable! They run true to size and I HIGHLY suggest that if you want to run and feel like you're on clouds every step of the way, that you GET these! You won't be disappointed! They release on Nike.com on Thursday, February 2nd.
Thank you a ton to the entire Nike Running Team, Julia, Molly, and Coach Blue, and also to my 3 girls for joining me on this awesome experience!
