Happy New Year!
I can't believe how fast 2016 flew right by. It's safe to say that it definitely was a GREAT year for me. I received so many unexpected amazing opportunities that I will forever be thankful for and I am looking forward to what this new year has in store for me!
In 2017, I want to continue my fitness journey but this time with different goals in mind. Last year, all I wanted was to lose weight. I didn't care about any PR's or becoming a better runner. This year however, I want to focus more on the sport of running. I want to become faster and stronger. I'm currently in the process of training for my very first full marathon on March 19th and that alone is already going to be one huge accomplishment for me. Going from "I hate running" to finishing 26.2 miles is a really big deal. Not just anyone can do that, it takes a lot of determination and commitment.
Another goal is to help get as many of my friends and family members into running/living an active lifestyle as much as possible, whether that be by running with them or being a motivation through social media. If I can do it, so can YOU. It's the thought of doing something outside of our comfort zone that prevents us from actually getting out there, but we are capable of doing so much more than what we think we can do. Believe me, I am living proof of this!
The year is already off to a great start and I'm sure as the days go by, I'll come up with more and more goals. Goals are what help keep us motivated to push harder each and everyday. So go ahead and set them for yourself and work hard until you have reached them!
Lets make 2017 OUR year!
