What a year it's been full of miles, sweat and goals met. I would have NEVER thought that I would be THIS dedicated to running.
I started my fitness journey August 1st, 2015, with one goal in mind, to lose weight and to be happy with myself. One year later, I lost weight and I am VERY happy with myself. I'm still no where near where I want to be, but I definitely am proud of how far I have come.
When I first started running, I couldn't even go half a mile without stopping. I didn't know what pace, form, or stride was. It took a very long time for me to get in the rhythm of running and actually liking it.
Running has not only helped shed off the unwanted weight but I've also learned new things, pushed myself to new limits I didn't think were possible, made many new friendships, received many opportunities, and it has given me the confidence I didn't have prior to starting my fitness journey.
In the past year, I have ran six 5K races and three 10K races. Although I have ran half marathon miles, I have never done an official race and thanks to Finishline #WeAreMore, I am going to cross a half marathon off my list this coming October when I run the Rock N Roll LA Half Marathon.
What's next for me? MORE RUNNING! It's not just about working on my physical appearance anymore. Running has now become a part of me. It's something I look forward to, something I truly enjoy. According to my Nike+ App, in a year, I have ran 626.5 miles and I am setting a goal for myself to beat those miles for this following year. Another goal of mine is to run the Los Angeles Marathon next year.
Looking back, it's so hard to believe that I have actually accomplished this much. It just goes to show that when you really put in the time and effort into something, ANYTHING and EVERYTHING is possible. Change doesn't happen over night, it takes time.
I have to thank the Nike Run Club, everyone from the runners, pacers and coaches, because without them, I probably wouldn't have stuck to running past the first few weeks. I also want to give a really big thank you to BlacklistLA for helping me reach goals I didn't think were possible.
Last but not least, a HUGE THANK YOU TO YOU for all your support and following me along my fitness journey. Every comment, direct message, tweet, email, etc, helps motivate me and encourage me to continue pushing harder each and everyday.
