Riding with CycleHouse

A couple weeks back, I was super bummed out because I missed out on the Cycle House spin class session hosted by Adidas for Fitness X, so when I received an email that read "Hi, from Cycle House", I was super excited that I was getting invited to take complimentary spin classes at Cycle House.

I had taken one spin class before about 3 years ago, but since it was part of a work group workout, I didn't take it too serious. This was my first time actually taking the class for workout purposes (if you get what I mean lol). Many of my friends are hooked on spin classes and I definitely see why now!

I went to the West Hollywood location straight from work, which is about 1.5 miles away, and I got to Cycle House way before my class started. After I checked in and looked at the time, I realized that the class that was in session, was just 15 minutes into their 45 minute class. The lobby area is fairly small, so I opted out to wait around outside.

I usually wear a size 8 to 8.5 in shoes, depending how the shoes run, so I went with a size 8. I should have gone with 8.5, I felt my toes cramming in the front when I would pick up the speed.

Before the class began, we all grabbed weights to do arm exercises while on the bike. I never really do any upper body work outs, so I opted out for the 2 lbs weights, which next time, I will definitely go up to 3lbs.

One of the things I remember most about the very first time I took a spin class three years ago, was having MAJOR trouble getting my cycle shoes clicked off the bike pedals. I was so nervous when the class was coming to an end because I wasn't sure if I was going to struggle again. Luckily, I figured out how to snap out of the pedals and didn't have any issues.

I got my butt kicked and I was definitely feeling the soreness from the seat the following days! I spoke to many of my friends that take spin classes and they all mentioned how you get used to the seat after a while.

Next spin class I go to I will make sure to bring a water bottle, go up 1/2 a size in shoes, not arrive TOO early, and be prepared to get my butt kicked!

Thank you Cycle House and Wendy for inviting me to take spin classes. It was definitely a great experience and major sweat fest! Looking forward to my next class already!
