Within the last month, I've had many people reach out to me whether it is on Instagram, email or in person, letting me know that I have inspired them to get up & move. It makes me so happy to know that I'm motivating others while on a journey of my own. That alone is a lot of motivation to keep going hard. There's people I don't even know watching my journey and getting inspired by it, so I don't want to let myself or anyone else down.
One of the questions I always get asked is how do I stay motivated and honestly, some days are way easier than others. There are days when I am super pumped and looking forward to my run or work out and others where I just want to go home and do absolutely nothing. My main motivation since the beginning of my journey has been to try losing weight. Change doesn't come from one day to another, it takes time and a lot of work and dedication. I slowly started seeing a difference in myself when comparing images and then that became my motivation. I have come so far, but still have a long way to go to where I want to be and I just can't stop here.
Ever since I became active in August 2015, I started joining the Nike Run Club and worked out with Nike Training Club. In all honesty, if it wasn't for the Nike clubs, I would have probably never started and would still be the insecure girl I was 4 months ago. From the Trainers, Coaches, Pacers, and other runners, you can always count on others to help push you past your comfort zone and help make you better and stronger. I find it way easier and definitely more encouraging working out and running with others than doing it alone. I still do enjoy going on long runs from my house to Venice Beach on Saturday or Sunday mornings, which averages from 8 to 10 miles. I also started running with Blacklist LA in November and I truly couldn't be anymore thankful for everyone being so welcoming and accepting. No matter your pace, no one ever gets left behind.
Everyone has different reasons and motivations as to why they decide to become active, but it's really up to YOU to keep it going. Consistency is definitely key. Once you start doing something and stay consistent, it becomes a part of your life.
Whatever works for you, just don't give up and keep pushing harder each and everyday. Anything is possible when you REALLY want it!
